Dentures with Accu-Liner

By Laslo G. Bako, DPD

We all make Dentures and Partials with our own way, from that old time when we started our career. Some of us changed a lot, some changed a little on his/her techniques, if anything at all.

The Removable Dentistry did not have much technical changes in the past decades, unlike the Fixed Dentistry, which had much more luck getting lot’s of new techniques and materials.

However now the Removable side of Dentistry shows great ambition for changes. More and more new materials and tools came by lately. Some of them even would deserve the glorifying title: "SCIENTIFIC". One of those "scientific new things" is the Accu-Liner Analyzer, what I would like to speak about now. Right at the beginning let me state the fact that:

I AM NOT A SALES MAN FOR ACCU - LINER PRODUCTS, OR AFFILIATED FINANCIALLY, OR LEGALLY WITH THEM.

I am only a lover, admirer and enthusiastic user of this system; Also have a few inventions, or rather I should say "additions of mine" to the Accu-Liner, what I worked out for myself, while using the instruments in my every day practice, since 1990. Those "additions of mine" are acknowledged with the inventor Dr. Hardy’s signature. Some of those are already incorporated in the instrument, some still remain in my possession, and used only by myself.

I own and use two gold and two silver instruments in my office.

I’ve met Dr. Leland Hardy DDS in 1990 January, on one of his first seminars introducing his new invention: called Accu-Liner. We became good friends soon on the common ground of the dental science. We both love measuring, recording, and to be precise!

He introduced his concept relying on significant land marks in the oral cavity, with a new way to transfer those to his analyzer instrument, realistically, as it relates to the Condyle in the head and to the base of the skull which is the Spheno-Occipital Synchondrosis. From now on we can create artificial replacements of the lost natural dentition with the correct results, regardless if it is a fixed-, a removable-, or an orthopedic appliance.

His orthopedic analyzer relates to the "stable land-marks" of the oral cavity, which are the Papilla Incisiva and the two Hamular Notches, providing consistency, anatomical competency. Eliminates guess-work in analyzing, judging and fabricating of all replacements of the natural dentition.

His dentist colleague Dr. James Carlson, who was obsessed with the Accu-Liner concept like myself, took the honor to write and illustrate the theory books of this wonderful system. Those books are my professional bible and guides when I preach about Accu-Liner.

After Dr. Hardy decided to retire Dr. Carlson took over the baton and the ownership. He is the one, who sells the Accu-Liner Analyzer to those who are interested to have no remakes, work without mistakes, with this wonderful scientific breakthrough.
